CAN I JUST TALK ABOUT THIS SCENE FOR ONE MINUTE?
No? Tough.
Yes I’m still fangasming over The Reichenbach Fall… deal with it.
- Holy shitballs Mark Gatiss, you brilliant man. Mycroft’s complete guilt - he thinks he betrayed his brother and drove him to suicide, and Gatiss shows all of that without uttering a single word. One of my favourite moments of the whole episode (and that’s saying something).
- THAT LIGHT. It’s reminding me of a spotlight on a stage. Perfection. Toby Haynes is an actual genius. This episode has confirmed that he’s been added to my list of favourite TV directors, along with Euros Lyn and Richard Clark (yep, I know there’s a Doctor Who theme here!)
- The score for this is absolutely perfect.
- It cuts right into Watson in a similar pose in a similar composed shot, but facing the opposite direction. UNF aesthetics. And Watson’s shot, again, has no words. And then cut back into Watson’s therapy session and oh man, these three shots in succession… yeah. Ugh this was very good television.
^^^^ Exactly what I thought, just actually coherently written.
Why’s it got two fronts?
It’s an ear hat!
The Deer Stalker or The Fez????
