Government axing the UK film council
How in any way could this be a good thing? It has helped mould the British film industry to be something uniquely recognisable around the world.
There have been so many films to have benefited from the funding, so many actors who can thank the film council for roles that have boosted their careers…and what? All this being thrown away, cast aside without long term thought over one of the most important industries in Britain.
The media industry is currently one of the largest hiring sectors and this will only hurt it, no matter what any Tory says, they are only thinking about here and now so that the debt can be cut, yet they are putting the ball in motion for destroying the arts as we know it in Britain!
